I’m here with another product empties post, but this time with all the products I’ve used up over April. Like all my other product empties posts (click here to be re-directed to the archive of the posts), I’ll be giving you my honest opinion of each product then rating them out of five (♥♥♥♥♥). There’s a variety of skincare and make-up empties this month so here we go…
This product is a soothing repair cream, with very high UV protection. I ordered this moisturiser online after I received two free £15 Feel Unique voucher from the currency exchange desk, and wanted something to soothe my dry scarring and hyper-pigmentation. The formula is good for damaged skin which has been exploded to the sun, as it restores, revives and purifies the skin’s layers. This also contains copper, which acts as Ann anti-bacterial agent, and is an antadigicine to relive discomfort and reduce the urge to scratch, which I really think it does. I’m a pain for itching my skin and then making it worse, and this product has stopped me picking at it. It is very moisturising, as he formula is non-sticky and non-greasy, but it a thick cream consistency so makes my skin feel soft and plump, so is a great make-up base.
PRO:VOKE Brightening Shampoo ♥♥♥♥ –
I started getting my hair highlighted/balyage last year, and I’ve since been using this shampoo when needed. Obviously the colour can dulled by UV light and when you wash your hair, but this shampoo helps to keep it bright and takes away the brassy tones in my hair. I would say I like to wash my hair first with my regular shampoo to give it a real good wash, then use this shampoo after to brighten my hair.
Palmers Cocoa Butter Fragrance Free ♥♥♥♥ –
This is a super thick and luxurious body moisturiser. I bought this as I have a lot of scarring at the top of my arms, so wanted a product that wouldn’t irritate my skin but would make the skin softer and aid in scar fading. It has made the skin a lot less dry, and made me less prone to itch the skin too.
Soft and Gentle 48hr Protection Deodorant in Jasmine and Coco Milk ♥♥♥♥ –
I’ve been using this brand of deodorant for as long as I can remember. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I really dislike spray/aerosol deodorants and much prefer roll-ons. This one has a light floral scent and lasts all day. Plus, the formula is great for my sensitive skin. The only thing I would say, is that I hugely prefer the lavender and patchouli fragrance more than this one.
If you know me well, you know I always carry hand gel on me; in my bag and in my car! What I love about this one is that it also contains moisturising ingredients so doesn’t dry your hands out like some hand gels do, and it’s quick drying so doesn’t leave your hands feeling tacky. Also, like all Soap and Glory products, it has a marvellous citrus scent.
Baylis and Harding Moonlight Peony Refreshing Shower Gel ♥♥♥♥♥ –
I hadn’t previously tried anything from Baylis and Harding before using this shower gel, despite often giving the gift sets as present to family and friends. This lathers up really well, and the scent stays on your skin which I love. I also love the packaging of this range, it looks luxurious and expensive, which the price tag definitely isn’t. I’ll definitely be re-purchaisng this.
Garnier SkinActive Soothing Botanical Water with Rose Water ♥♥♥♥ –
I’ll admit it is very rare that I use a toner, which I know is bad but it’s just a habit I can’t into. However, I was bought this product as part of my birthday box from everyone at work, so obviously had to give it a try. Wow, does using toner make a difference (yes I know I sound stupid), as this left my dry patches of skin feeling soothed and more supple, and with that helped reduce dry-skin break outs. It’s also great for removing any left over makeup or product after cleansing. I’ve since bought a few other toners to start trying now this one is empty.
Soap and Glory Clean on Me (Mini) ♥♥♥♥♥ –
I took this with us to Bradford when we went to see Matilda the Musical (I definitely recommend you check out the post, click here to be redirected!). If you know me well, you’ll know that Soap and Glory shower gels are my favourite, and nothing will ever beat them. They lather so well, last for ages and the scents are just bliss. Nothing more.
Calcot Manor De-Stress Body Buff ♥♥♥♥♥ –
This is a brand that is produced for Tesco Stores, and is one which I hadn’t heard of until I was gifted the set in a huge orange bag for Christmas. I love the scent of this product, which is orange blossom and orchid, it smells luxurious and genuinely reminds me of the scent of spa products. you can use this on wet or dry skin, depending on how intently you want to buff and exfoliate the skin, but either works a treat for me.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush ♥♥♥♥ –
This is probably the most popular brand of dry-shampoos and one which I’ve used for years. It gives volume, and gives my hair that fresh look between washes, and lifts giving it volume too. However, like most dry-shampoos the white residues is a pain for my dark hair and I prefer the tropical scent from this brand, over this fragrance.
Lacura Classic Bloom Body Fragrance ♥♥♥♥ –
Having used ‘Impulse’ religiously in my early teens, I had to pick one of these up in Aldi to try and compare. They’re great to pop in your handbag if you ever need a quick spritz. This scent is amber and sandalwood, so is earthy and mature. This product is great, so cheap and the scent lasts for ages.
I HEART Makeup Fixing Spray ♥♥ –
After using this product my still became quite oily and didn’t help keep my makeup in place all day, and definitely not for the 12 hours it states it does. However, it’s lightweight and not too ‘wet’ which I often hate in a setting spray. I’ve since been trying other setting sprays to find one I like, so if you have any recommendations let me know!
Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation (100 Ivory) ♥♥♥ –
This foundation is comfortable on the skin. It doesn’t irritate or dry it out, is not overly heavy, and is perfect for bad skin days where I want more coverage. I used to use full overage foundations all the time, but more recently I’ve started to embrace my natural skin a lot more, and I’ve started to use much lighter coverage products, so despite liking this product I’m unlikely to re-purchase it any time soon.
Collection Primed&Ready Invisible Setting Powder ♥♥♥♥♥ –
I’ve tried a fair few setting powders, but this one caught y eye as it contains Witch hazel to help reduce and minimise blemishes. The consistency is lovely and smooth, so works nicely with any foundation, and helps set my makeup all day. Also, I love the container style packaging, as I often break ones without an attached lid, so this one is fab.
So, that’s all my product empties this month. Have you tried any of these? If so, what are your thoughts?
