Like myself, you’ve probably seen this post floating around a fair bit over the years. However, I recently saw the gorgeous Tori (from Indigo Rosee) do this, and I just thought it would be a great way for you to get to know me a little better, as I’ve never really shared a lot of personal things about myself. The basic concept of the ‘A-Z of me’ is to chronologically go through each letter of the alphabet, and find a word that is relevant to you. That could be something you’ve done, a part of your lifestyle, or a personality trait of yours. Absolutely anything! I think that makes sense!? So, here is the A-Z of me…
A – Adventure
I am such an adventure seeker. That can be through travelling or just anything generally outdoors. So far I’ve skydived, kayaked, paddle boarded, done many water sports abroad, zip-lined, abseiled and much more. I just love it.
B – Blogging
Of course, this little blog that you’re reading right now. This little blog I started back in March 2017 is still somehow here and is at its peak right now. I love blogging and everything that comes with it. I’m SO glad I finally made the move and set up my website.
C – Criminology
I am currently an undergraduate student, studying Criminology. I can’t really remember the precise reasons behind choosing this degree pathway, but I did A-level law and psychology, and have been fascinated by crime, and the reasons behind criminal activity for a long time. Oh, and of course I am a crime drama TV addict!
D – Deaf Havana
Deaf Havana is my all time favourite band. If you read my recent post on their latest tour (click here to be redirected), you’ll know that I found this band back in 2014 when I was going through a pretty rubbish year in school. A school friend and I when to see them in Leeds during the same year, and this was my first ever concert. Actually, Deaf Havana is the ONLY music artist I’ve ever seen live (that will change in May!). I love their music, vibe and just generally respect the dedication they have to their music.
E – Empathetic
I am a rididulously empathetic person, which is a good and bad trait to have. I can read people quite well, and try to understand how they are feeling. I’m a go-to when people have upset and issues I think.
F – Fireworks
One of my favourite nights, albeit probably my most favourite nights of the year is bonfire night. I just love fireworks. Every year I go to at least two displays. The pretty flashes of light, and bursts of colour in the sky, fill me with so much joy. Also, there’s nothing cosier than being wrapped up in layers, stood by the bonfire and watching the firework display commence. Last year I wrote a blog post of the ‘Musical Firework Spectacular’ at Sledmere House, click here to take a look.
G – Goats OR Greece…how am I supposed to choose between these two!?
Goats are my favourite animal. An unusual choice, I know, but they’re just so cute. Their mannerisms and crazy bouncing behavior just make me crease. Then, of course, I couldn’t not mention Greece in the A-Z of me. It is my favourite country in the whole world, and no matter what new countries I may visit in the future, this will never change.
H – Hardworking
This is why I am such a stress-head, because I overwork myself. I think if you’re going to do something, do it properly.
I – ICS
This is a scheme I’ve wanted to do since completing NCS back in 2014. I’ve an assessment day looming (I might have actually been for it by the time this post goes up!), so I’m sure I’ll keep you updated! This is something I talk about ALL the time, so fingers crossed all goes well!
J – Jewellery
I’m not a huge jewellery wearer, but I have my 3 or 4 pieces that I wear all the time: two pandora rings, a Hamsa necklace Tegan bought me for my 21st Birthday, and a set of forget me not earrings that match one of my rings.
K – Knees
I’ve hypermobile joints, and consequently I get a lot of pains and issues with them. This is especially the case for my knees. I’d come home from work, and they’d be swollen, bruised and ache a ridiculous amount!
L – Love
Not just for a partner, or family but also the love I have for my friends. I have a small family and a small handful of friends, but every single one means the absolute world to me, and I don’t need a lot of friends, I need ones who are there for me, as I am for them, every step of the way. Every single one has impacted me in some way. They’ve given me the confidence to be me, seek every opportunity, work hard and play even harder, and it’s allowed me to be who I want.
M – Malibu
My OG alcoholic beverage of choice. Everyone else hates it, so no one ever steals my drinks at house parties!
N – Netball
I’ve been playing netball for as long as I can remember. I think I started when I was around 8/9 in primary school, and I’ve been playing since. I’m not a very good player like, but I really enjoy the sport. Competitiveness, quick-thinking, and fast-paced are all components of netball that I just thrive for. I’m currently part of a social league that I’ve been playing for nearly a year and a half. The girls on the teams are amazing, and I really look forward to our Tuesdays playing together.
O – Ocean
There’s no place I’d rather be than to be beside the ocean. The sound of the ocean is so calming and peaceful, I could sit all day by the sea, and be so content. Also, I love swimming in the ocean, and jumping off the boat in the middle of the sea is a firm holiday favourite.
P – Pip
My first pet was a little dog called Pip. Unless you’ve had a pet you won’t understand the impact they have on you. She was my absolute BFF, and basically the sibling I never had. I still have photos up of her across my room, and her collar to remember her by. I genuinely still haven’t got over losing her, despite it being nearly 12 years ago. It feels like yesterday.
Q – Quiet
I’m a relatively chatting and loud (ish) person, but I just love the tranquility of a quiet space.
R – Reading
I’ve always been a huge bookworm. My parents and I used to spend most Sundays trawling round the local car-boot looking for new books to read when I was younger. This is still the same now when I think about it. If you want to see what I’ve been reading recently, check out this post here.
S – Stress
I am the BIGGEST stress-head you will ever meet. Mum’s always telling me to not stress, but I swear it’s impossible!
T – Travel
New places, cultures, people…my heart just aches for it. Once I’ve finished uni, I’ve told myself I want to dedicate some time to doing more travelling. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been abroad on family holidays every year, and I think this is where my love for travel has stemmed from.
U – University
Like previously mentioned I’m studying Criminology at the University of York. The past three years of university have flown by, but it has still had a huge impact on who I am today.
V – Volunteering
I’ve done a fair bit of volunteering and fundraisers with different charities. I think volunteering is great as you get to try something new, gain experience and skills, improve your career prospects, build confidence and meet new people.
W – Weather
Like most people, the weather really affects my mood. I love the sunshine, and the hotter the better. Bring on summer!
X – Xmas
Christmas is the one time of year that family comes together. Everyone lives such busy lives, but it is the one time a year where no one is working and we get to spend quality time with one another, and is often the highlight of the year.
Y – Yorkshire! Yorkshire! Yorkshire!
Born and bred in this wonderful county, and I’d never wish to live anywhere else right now…well maybe anywhere except Greece of course! There’s so much to do up here, you’ve got the countryside and the city. I’m just a northern girl through and through.
Z – Zante
As previously mentioned Greece is my favourite country, and out of all of the Greek Islands, Zante is the one I’ve visited the most. It’s on my bucket list to tick off every single Greek Island!
And that is it for the ‘A-Z of me’. It was actually more difficult than expected for certain letters! I’d love to see your ‘A-Z of me’ posts.
Nat
Have you read my previous post? – Roll Up, Roll Up to Paulos Circus*
I remember seeing a lot of these type of posts when the trend was first set but have not seen any in a while. I love these type of posts as they allow you to learn more about the blogger outside of their blog. I have never been to Greece but would love to visit – where would you recommend for a family holiday? I would love to go Santorini like in Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants but it is expensive and apparently there is not a lot to do there. xx
Neither had I, so had to jump onto even though I’m very late to it. Tsilivi in Zante is lovely, and Rethymno in Crete. Santorini is like my dream honeymoon destination! Thanks for reading!xx
Love this! What a fab blog post!
Thanks lovely!
There’s nothing wrong with Malibu! I’m not from Yorkshire, but my family moved there when I was a child. I don’t think I fully appreciated it until I left and moved to London, but isn’t that always the way? So many good places for walks and lovely countryside.
I’m glad someone else appreciates Malibu. I love Yorkshire. Wow, London is a big move, big city and bigger opportunities down there!
