Back in February, Mum and myself went to Bradford to see Matilda the Musical for a birthday treat, click here to be redirected to that post. As another birthday surprise, I also surprised mum by staying over the night and making a little staycation of it. After browsing ‘booking.com’ to see what was available, I came across the ‘Meridian Apartments’. I paid £50 for the night for both of us. What a bargain! I just had my fingers crossed that the apartment looked as good as it did on the website. Also, the apartments were only a 3-minute walk away from the Alhambra Theatre, so in a great location for us.
We could check in from 1pm, so we set off from York at 12pm to give us more than enough time to get there. The owner of the apartments greeted us at the front of the property on arrival and introduced himself. He was so lovely and polite and even remembered that the booking was for mum’s birthday, which just showed great customer service.
After settling the outstanding balance and signing paperwork, we were shown to our apartment. We were on the bottom floor, which was great for mum with her bad knees. The apartment was beautiful and modern, the photos don’t do it justice.
So, did the apartment live up to expectations?
Mum thought the apartment would have cost around £70-80 for the night, not the bargain price stated. The whole place was modern, with contemporary features. The kitchen looked newly fitted and had all the necessary appliances (and a fridge stocked with milk). Other features of the apartment were, a two-seater sofa and coffee table, dining table set up to use, flat-screen smart TV, and remote controlled LED ambient lighting around the room. There was a red and white theme throughout the main room, making it look clean and fresh.
In the bathroom, the theme was white with grey features. There was also a waterfall shower, which is my favourite! We were supplied with all the essential bathroom products too; shower gel, soap, lotion, and shampoo miniatures, and two toothbrushes and toothpaste sets too. It’s little details like this, that just makes the room feel even more luxurious and value for money.
Why not make a booking for yourself?
I also have a referral link* for booking.com, so if you want to book into this lovely apartment, or anywhere else you can get yourself (and me) £15 credit to spend if you use the following link: https://www.booking.com/s/35_6/9f3d286d
If we’re ever in Bradford again, we will definitely be staying at these apartments. 10/10 would recommend a stay!
