This is the third post in my ‘Product Empties’ series, and this time I am reviewing all my empty shower and body products that I’ve used over the past year or so. Before reading this post be sure to check out the two previous posts in this series; ‘Face Masks‘ and ‘Moisturisers’. Again, there is a mixed bag, with different brands and price-ranges, and with that different opinions. Each product will be reviewed and then rated on a heart scale out of 5 (♥♥♥♥♥)
Soap and Glory Scrub ‘Em and Leave ‘Em Body Buff ♥♥♥♥ – I used this in the summer before going on holiday too, to scrub off all my dry skin, to aid getting a better tan. The consistency does not scrape or scratch the skin, and instead feels more like a buffing sensation so it is perfect for those who prefer more of a ‘gentle’ scrub, like me. I also love the musky scent of this product.
FemFresh 2in1 Shower and Shave Cream ♥ – Having used regular FemFresh intimate wash for years, I saw this product on offer in Superdrug and picked it up to try. The product claims to stop redness, razor bumps and shaving rash but, I can’t say I actually like this product if I’m completely honest. The consistency was too thin to be able to get a comfortable shave whilst using it, and I just felt like the product had no purpose and would have maybe been better if it was a thicker, more lathering consistency. However, I think the regular FemFresh Feminine Wash is great, so I will continue to use that.
The Body Shop Vanilla Brûlée Shower Gel ♥♥♥♥ – If you’ve read my posts for a while, you’ll know how much I love The Body Shop and their products. This shower gel is creamy, and feels super luxurious when applying to the skin. It smells perfectly of creme brûlée, without being overly sickly or sweet with a combination of vanilla extract and honey, and leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished.
Lacura Spray Moisturiser (Cocoa, Fragrance Free and Aloe) ♥♥♥♥♥ – I’ve wanted to try a spray moisturisers for a while, but the Vaseline one is very pricey, and not money I was desperate to spend on a moisturiser. So, when we finally got an Aldi near me and I saw this dupe, I had to try it. This product is great during the summer months, and especially when on holiday for a quick full body moisture spritz. If you are like me who is a little lazy when it comes to body skincare and especially moisturising, this product is great as it is so quick and easy to apply, plus is absorbs into the skin quickly, leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth. I’ve tried all three different spray moisturisers from Aldi, but the Care and Repair Cocoa Glow is definitely my favourite out of the three.
Imperial Leather Marshmallow Bath Cream ♥♥♥♥♥ – Ok I’ll put my hands up and admit that I bought this for a present and ended up keeping this for myself once I smelt this (no regrets!). It smells exactly like a ‘flump’, which if you don’t know what that is, it’s a 90s childhood sweet; basically a twisted marshmallow. This product smells so sweet and delicious without being overpoweringly sickly, and also creates the best bubbles. I’m definitely going to be re-purchasing this.
Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Shower Gel ♥♥♥♥♥ – This is one of my all time favourite shower gels, and my favourite range/fragrence of all the Soap and Glory products. The only thing I would change about this product would be to make it a thicker consistency like the other Soap and Glory shower gels, as it is quite thin and watery and I like a shower gel that lathers and feels luxurious. Apart from that, I absolutely love this product.
Scrub Love Invigorating Coffee Body Scrub ♥♥♥ – I received this product in a Birchbox last year, so I’ve finally got round to trying it out. Personally, I hate coffee; the taste and the smell, so to me the scent of the scrub is a little gross, but it’s not unbearable. However, the product is amazing at scrubbing away all your dry, flakey skin and leaves your skin looking fresh and glowing. This is great for normal to dry skin, as coffee is a natural exfoliant. This also contains vitamin E and C to energise and brighten, orange oil is an anti-inflammatory agent, almond oil to leave the skin feeling silky and smooth and pink rock salt and orange peel to buff and detoxify. It’s a great product, just maybe if I liked coffee!
Spaa Retreat by Superdrug Refreshing Body Wash and Body Scrub ♥♥♥♥ – The body wash lathers really well, for a luxurious feeling wash, and it has an uplifting clean and fresh fragrance. The body scrub contains natural Pecan Shell powder, and Aloe Vera to create an uplifting and relaxing fragrance. Massaging this into wet skin helps remove the dead top layer of skin, and leaves your skin soft and glowing. These products are also suitable for vegans.
Planet Product Prickly Pear Seeds Body Lotion – 100% natural ♥ – I was kindly gifted this product, from someone’s holiday. It smells fresh and organic, but when rubbed into the skin it became somewhat soapy and didn’t sink into the skin.
Lady Gaga Fame Black Fluid Shower Gel ♥ – This was part of a gift set, that came with the Black Fluid perfume. When it says its black it means it, which is something that was so cool about the product. However, it doesn’t lather well and is quite a sticky consistency which made it hard to wash with. But, it does smell luxurious and is a lavish, fragranced shower gel. I definitely wouldn’t re-purchase this.
Lacura (for men) Shave Gel for Sensitive Skin ♥♥♥♥ – I can’t seem to find a ladies shave gel in Aldi, so thought I’d give the males one a go; surely there can’t be that much difference!? Anyway, I found this has been great in aiding shaving and leaves me with no rashes, redness or shaving bumps. It is an absolute bargain price, so I definitely recommend trying it, especially as little goes a long way too.
Again, a lot of different products, with a lot of different opinions. Keep your eyes peeled for the next product empties post!
