My Goals for the Festive Season

After a week off from blogging, I’m back with a post dedicated to my goals for the festive season. I love setting myself goals, and this month is going to be especially busy so I want to set these goals to hold myself accountable for all the things I want to accomplish over the month.

The first thing on my list this year is to be super organised with present buying – and not panic buying! I love putting thought into present buying for my loved ones, but last year I ended up stress buying and I HATED it.

This year I want to go to my local Christmas market. I live in York, and every year there is a super cute, little market down Parliament Street, and I love seeing all the local business and produce.

If you saw my Blogmas posts last year, I baked gingerbread (check out the recipe here!), and I surprised myself. I can give or take gingerbread, but I may be blowing my own trumpet a little bit here, the gingerbread we baked was delicious and I cannot wait to make it again this festive season.

Next, I need to get organised for 2019. 2018 has been so busy, and I’ve had so many amazing memories this year but I want to be prepared for an even more intense year next year. I want to make a sort of bullet journal to use alongside my personal diary, to organise deadlines, blogging and budgeting, so I’d like to set this up this month.

Also this year I want to take a visit to ‘Twinkle-pike Way‘ Christmas lights. Every year a little cul-de-sac in Wiggington, York, display a HUGE amount of lights, and all donations go to their chosen charities. My grandad used to take my cousins and I when we were little, then the last couple of years I’ve taken Adam and my mum. It’s such a lovely display, and all for a good cause.

Every year I love dedicating time and money into collecting products for the local foodbank. This is something I find especially important during the festive season, when we should be spreading loving and happiness to all, especially to those in a less fortunate situation to ourselves.

Like every year, this year I want to watch as many Christmas films as I can. If you want to know my favourites, check out my Favourite Festive Movies blog post from last year. I especially want to want to watch an classic Christmas film called The Greatest Store in the World, which I didn’t get round to watching last year.

I also want to finish one of my university deadlines before Christmas. I’d say get both done but I know I’m not that motivated and dedicated…one is enough pressure for myself, and I want to push to get it completely finished, edited and proof-read before the 24th.

Finally, although this is leaving it on a little bit of a boring note, I want to have a huge ‘winter’ clean. I need to have a huge declutter, as there is so many items I keep that I just don’t need or use. Also, I bought a new bed yesterday, and it was a pretty big long term investment piece and it is an ottoman bed so has so much storage and I want to use it efficiently. It is due to be delivered in the next couple of weeks, so I need to get a hurry on with decluttering.

What are your goals for December?

I was in York a few weeks ago and was so disappointed to be visiting just before the Christmas Market started as it sounds like so much fun! You will have to do a post on the market for me! xx
