Today’s post is a little collaboration with my bestie Abbi over at: thelifeofabbidenning.wordpress.com. On Saturday, we dragged our boyfriends along (who seem to love each other more than they love us!?), to Sledmere House for their Musical Firework Spectacular.
We pre-booked tickets online, and paid £8.50 each. Sledmere House is located within Driffield so it is about a 30-40 minute drive from where we live in York. Thankfully there was no traffic, so it was a quick trip down the A166.
My favourite night of the year…
If you know me well, you’ll know that bonfire night is one of my favourite nights of the year. I love getting all wrapped up and slinging my wellies on, and watching the beautiful displays of bright colourful fireworks whilst the heat from the bonfire prickles your skin.
‘Welcome to the Circus’
The theme of the evening was ‘Welcome to the Circus’ so the venue, activities, stilt walkers and firework displays were all fitting within this theme. There was also obviously a bonfire burning throughout the evening, which also was a source of warmth when trying to dry off after the rain shower, and kept us nice and toasty.
There was plenty of food and drinks to choose from including hot and cold drinks, pastries, hog roast, kebabs/gyros, sweets and more. Plus, different rides and little attractions to keep you entertained. We went on the twister (much to my dismay), and I came off feeling very motion sick…wonderful.
The firework display was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l, and circus themed music was played alongside to fit the theme of the evening. Songs included ‘Roar’ by Katy Perry, and of course songs from The Greatest Showman *sobs*.
Overall, we had a wonderful evening, with even better company and will be definitely going next year.
