Adam kindly bought me the Benefit They’re Real Mascara last year for my birthday, but I’ve been saving it until all my current mascaras had run out. I’ve heard such mixed reviews about this product, so was looking forward to trying it out for myself, so I thought I’d share my views with you.
Firstly, the packaging is just beautiful. I know it is a high-end product, and a lot more expensive that your usual drug-store mascara, but the design and packaging makes up for it, and gives it that actual ‘luxurious’ aesthetic.
The wand is fairly long, and not too wide, and there are alternating long and short bristles which I find is the perfect shape and design for my lashes. It allows you to capture all your lashes when brushing the mascara through them, catching the little tiny lashes too, and the ones in the outer and inner corners.
Volumising, length-boost, curls and separates lashes. It is just brilliant!
The formula is not too thick, but not runny, and is glossy and jet-black. I found when applying it, there was no clumps, or flaking once dried. However, one thing I would say is that it doesn’t dry as quick as other mascaras I’ve owned and tried, but I’m pretty patient so this doesn’t bother me so much…unless I’m obviously running late! It stays on my lashes all day, and doesn’t leave me with ‘panda eyes’, whether it is a a dry sunny day, or pouring with rain! I don’t know whether this is a positive or not, but it last that long, that sometimes I don’t realise that I haven’t washed it off properly, then wake up the next morning or get out the shower to lovely black bags under my eyes, but hey, just shows how long-lasting it truly is (and that isn’t taking into account my poor effort to remove eye-makeup properly!)
I’ve also received SO many compliments when wearing this mascara, my mum noticed how amazing it makes my lashes look the first day I wore it!
This is now my go to make-up product, I absolutely love it! I may be a little late to the ‘hype’, but I have now found my new favourite, so it was definitely worth waiting for.
Have you tried this product? What is your favourite mascara?
