This month’s Birchbox is a collaboration with the brand Ohh Deer, which is a unique and quirky stationary and gift company.
The first item I received is a Afterspa Amazing Makeup Remover. This soft-cloth claims to remove all your makeup with only a little bit of water. I found this removed the basis of my make-up but didn’t leave my skin feeling that clean, and I still felt the need to use some cleanser to remove the deep dirt from my skin. However, it is great for removing the initial makeup from your face, and should last up to 1000 uses.
I also received the Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Charcoal. This is so long-wearing, and I could wear it all day with no smudging or running. The pigmentation is also amazing, which I think can be hard to find with pencil liners.
The Lord and Berry Blusher Crayon (in Camelia), which is a product I have never tried before, or never considered trying. The pigmentation is great, and it gives your cheeks a lovely flush of colour, but I found when I tried to blend it in it took some of my makeup off underneath.
I was SO excited to see the Benefit POREfessional Pearl Primer in this months box. It is an oil-free, lightweight formula with pearly-pink pigment for a brighter complexion. this is an amazing base for my make-up and my foundation sits on it so nicely. I just wish the sample was bigger!
Lastly, I received the Charlotte Mensah Manketti Hair Oil. Again, like all the other hair products I’ve been sent by Birchbox, I tend to avoid such products as I have oily hair and these products just make it even worse! However, this product uses sustainably sources manketti nut, and biennia oils to condition, tame frizz, care for your scalp and add shine, so I think my mum might try this out instead of me!
Overall, this is the first time I have been kind of disappointed with my Birchbox, as there was nothing that really stuck out for me. So, we shall have to see what February box brings!
What did you received in your January Birchbox?
