Back in December, my dad took me out for food at Vaquieros in York, which is a Brazilian Rodizio style restaurant. You pay one inclusive set price, and you get an unlimited menu of a variety of the finest cuts of meat and Brazilian side-dishes…basically it an ‘all you can eat’ buffet, and I mean there’s nothing better than that is there!? We got the early-bird offer, and paid around £18 each. But they do other offers throughout the week including a discounted price on a Monday, and a lunch-time offer. There was also a great choice of 241 cocktails, I mean what more could you want! I went for the fruity Caipirinha, one raspberry and the second one mango, they were delicious, and went down a little to easily.
On your table you get a little disc with ‘sim’ on one side, and ‘nao’ on the other, which in Portuguese means ‘yes’ and ‘no’. you use these discs to indicate to the chef whether you would like more, or if you want to stop/have a food break…what a great intuitive idea.
You get an absolutely huge choice of meats at the restaurant, 16 different cuts in total, from steak, to pork, chicken, gammon (which came with pineapple…yum), and more. The selection of side dishes was also great, including rice dishes, salads, salsas, breads and stew dishes…you can see the full selection on the picture of the board below.
The decor was also amazing. With a ‘wooden-rodeo’ theme running throughout, with Brazilian art-work on the walls, which made it look so quaint, and fit the theme of the restaurant perfectly.
Overall, the dining experience was great. The food was amazing, and the cuts of means were delicious and mouth-watering. A huge shout out to the staff, who were so helpful and chatty, and made it even more enjoyable.
I’ll definitely be dining here again!
