Adam and I, have just returned from staying in Whitley Bay for 4 nights (blog post on Tuesday!). Whilst we were away, we couldn’t help but spend a day in Newcastle and do some shopping. Of course, how could I not go into Primark, the Newcastle one is HUGE!!! So, I thought I would write a blog post on the items I picked up.
Matching Rose Bralette and Briefs –
I feel Primark have really upped their lingerie game. They have some beautiful sets in at the moment, and such a large selection. I saw this set on Primark’s Instagram page, and instantly fell in love. So, this was one of the things on my list to buy the next time I was in store. The bralette was £8 and the briefs were £4.
I saw this skirt at a distance, and it went straight in my basket, it’s so me! It is a lilac/grey colour, with a black lace trim. It was a bargain £8, and it is such a good quality. However, I have a little issue with the size of this skirt. All the skirts I own are a size 8/10, but I took a 12 as well into the changing rooms knowing Primark sizes can be a a little small. The 12 was super tight, but I loved it so much I took the 14 home without trying it on, knowing I could return it if need be. The 14 just fits perfectly, and I had noticed there wasn’t not much difference in the waist compared to the size 16. So, I’m a little confused by Primark’s sizing recently, but I’m just happy I was able to purchase this pretty item!
Ripped Jeans –
Buying jeans for myself from Primark is usually a massive NO-NO, as I’m a 36″ leg and can only buy jeans in stores that have a tall section, but I like to have a look anyway. I’m not usually a fan of this ‘ripped/distressed’ fashion trend that is present at the moment, but I saw these and quite liked them. I normally stick to high waist jeans, but I think these would look great with the striped tee I also bought. These were £15.
Striped Blouse –
I’d seen this blouse in quite a few vlogger’s Primark hauls, and I just think it’s so cute with the frill across the front. I tried on the size 10 in the changing room, and this was a little tight, so picked up a 12. When I got home the 12 fits perfectly on the body, but the arms are so tight I couldn’t bend them, so sadly this will have to be returned. But, I’m going to see if they have a size 14 in the York store, and see if the arms aren’t so tight. This blouse was £10.
Cropped Lilac Hoody –
I’d been wanting to purchase a cropped hoody, because I live in them (especially at uni), and thought a cropped one would be more flattering on me. I picked up this lilac one, for £7. I love the colour, as I think it will be perfect for spring time, and the inside is super, super soft. I got this in a size 10 and it has a loose, cosy fit.
NYC Crop and Pants set –
I already own one of these little sets, so I couldn’t help but pick up another one when I was in Primark. I love wearing these when I’m just staying at home all day, as they are super comfy, and only £5. Primark have a large variety of colours and designs of these sets, there is too many to choose from!
Dusky Pink Heels and Black Heeled Sandle–
I have been invited to a wedding in June, and have been looking for some shoes to match the dress I have bought for the occasion. With me being tall (like very, 6ft tall), I find buying shoes (oh, and jeans!) a massive pain. I wanted some dressy, sophisticated shoes with only a small heel, and it is much more difficult than you think to find shoes with a small heel these days. I saw these pink ones in Primark and fell in love with them. They are a dusky pink colour, with a pointed toe, and ‘criss-crossed straps’ around the ankle. The heel is a comfortable size, and I love the colour. But, when I got home and compared them with the dress, the colour is not quite the same! UGH! However, I’m going to keep them for now until I find some others. I also picked up a black pair of mini heels/sandles, but when I tried them on when I got home I didn’t like the way they looked on me, so these will be getting returned. Both of these pairs of shoes were £12.
Stripy Tee –
I’ve been wanting a navy and white striped t-shirt for ages, especially for summer to put under my pinafore dress and Primark provided. The material is super soft and, it was only £4 (size 10).
Disney PJs! –
The moment I saw these being previewed by Primark on Instagram I fell in love with them and could not wait for them to come in store. However, I couldn’t find them in the York stores, so you can imagine how excited I was when I spotted these in Newcastle! I was too excited, as you can tell by how crumpled they look in the photo, because as soon as I got home I put them on. This set was £5 for the top, and £5 for the bottoms (I think!?), and they are super comfy and fit flatteringly.
So, like usual I spent far too much money in Primark, as my self-control seems to disappear as I walk through the doors.
Let me know what you have bought recently from Primark!
